Policy Statement on Additional Adult Support for Wraparound Care or After-School Clubs
We are committed to providing inclusive wraparound care and after-school club opportunities for all children. However, where a child requires additional adult support to attend due to their individual needs, the following steps will be taken:
1. Assessment of Needs:
We will work with parents/carers to assess the child’s needs and determine the level of additional support required.
2. Funding Options:
• Parents/carers will be encouraged to apply for external funding, such as through Activities Unlimited or other relevant schemes, to cover the cost of the additional support.
• Where external funding is not available, parents/carers may use funds from their child’s Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to contribute to the cost of the required support.
3. Collaboration and Transparency:
We will provide guidance and assistance where possible to help parents/carers navigate funding applications. Our goal is to work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for the child.
4. Financial Responsibility:
If funding cannot be secured through external sources or DLA, parents/carers may be asked to meet the additional costs directly to ensure the required support is in place.
This policy ensures that resources are allocated fairly and sustainably while prioritizing the child’s ability to access and enjoy wraparound care and after-school clubs.
