Summer 2 2025
We are incredibly proud of the children in years 3 and 4 for their enthusiasm, creativity, and hard work throughout this academic year. Their classrooms have been full of energy, excitement, and a strong sense of curiosity as they explored a wide range of topics and took part in some truly memorable experiences.
In science this half term, the children have been diving into the fascinating world of the water cycle. They’ve learned how water changes state, moving between evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. Alongside this, they’ve explored the properties of solids, liquids, and gases through hands-on investigations, discovering how materials behave and change in different conditions. Their enthusiasm for science has been clear to see, with many excellent questions, thoughtful observations, and impressive experiments shared in class.
Creativity has also flourished this term, particularly through their work in art. Inspired by the beautiful, light-filled works of Claude Monet, Years 3 and 4 produced their own artwork in his Impressionist style. Using soft brush strokes and a focus on colour and light, the children created stunning pieces that captured the essence of nature.
One of the highlights of this half term was our action-packed Activities Week. The children showed tremendous courage and team spirit as they took on challenges like rock climbing and axe throwing. In the forest, they explored natural art through leaf bashing, learning to transfer the rich colours and patterns of leaves onto fabric. Sports Day brought plenty of fun and healthy competition, with every child participating and cheering each other on. The dodgeball competition added even more excitement, as pupils dodged, dived, and worked together to achieve victory.
As we reflect on this wonderful year, we also look ahead with excitement. The children have grown in confidence, independence, and resilience. They have embraced learning with open minds and open hearts, and we know they are ready for the new challenges that the next academic year will bring.
Well done to all our Year 3 and 4 pupils – your achievements, attitudes, and effort have been truly inspiring. We can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish next!
