UKS2 – Autumn 1
UKS2 have had a lovely start to the school year and it has been wonderful to see the children settling back into school, reconnecting with friends and embracing all the exciting learning opportunities ahead.
This term, we have enjoyed exploring the fascinating environments of the North and South Poles, discovering more about these incredible regions, their climates, wildlife and the challenges of living in such extreme conditions. The children have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout our learning.
Our creativity has also been flourishing through our Lichtenstein-inspired artwork. The children have explored his distinctive pop art style, experimenting with bold colours, patterns and techniques to create some fantastic pieces.
Year 6 have particularly enjoyed getting hands-on with technology and engineering. They have taken part in a Micro:bit code-along, developing their coding skills and exploring how technology can be used to create and control different programmes. Year 5 have also risen to the challenge of bridge building, applying their problem-solving, teamwork and design skills to create and test their structures.
It has been a busy, exciting and rewarding start to the year, and we are incredibly proud of the children's enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to try new things. We look forward to all the learning and adventures still to come!
