UKS2 – Spring 1
We began Spring term making some amazing Mayan masks. The children used jungle animals as their inspiration and researched the design of the traditional masks. Throughout the term the children have loved learning about different elements of Mayan culture. This included where they lived, their traditional stories and the sport of Pok-ta-Pok.
The year 6 children had an amazing time on their residential at Manor Adventure. It was wonderful to see the teamwork and support they offered each other. Fencing was a new event for us this year and definitely became a new favourite.
Year 5 had their second visit from Arm. They worked together to programme Microbits to count steps and spell out their names. Both Elder and Birch are looking forward to visiting the Arm headquarters in Cambridge later in the year.
We look forward to continuing our topic of The Americas in the second half of Spring term. However this time we will be focusing on The Amazon.
